Star cricketer Virat Kohli gave a cheeky tongue reaction after Ravindra Jadeja dismissed Tom Latham in the first innings during the Champions Trophy 2025 final between India and New Zealand went viral.

After winning the toss, the Kiwis opted to bat first in the summit clash. Mitchell Santner’s decision, however, did not give them the desired results, as Indian spinners quickly made an impact. The Kiwis found it difficult to tackle India’s spin-heavy attack on a sluggish surface in Dubai.

The cracks started showing early when Varun Chakaravarthy dismissed Will Young for 15, followed by Kuldeep Yadav’s double strike to remove Rachin Ravindra (37) and Kane Williamson (11). With New Zealand struggling at 108/3 in the 23rd over, Latham became was their next hope for a fightback. However, Jadeja took no time to send him packing.

In the 23rd over, the left-armer bowled a quicker delivery on the middle stump. The southpaw, attempting a sweep shot, completely misjudged the length and was struck plumb in front. The umpire raised his finger without hesitation, and though Latham opted for a review, replays showed three reds, confirming his dismissal for just 14 off 30 balls.

As the decision was confirmed, Kohli celebrated in his trademark animated style. The former India captain cheekily pulled his tongue out to tease the departing batter.

Notably, in the previous over, Jadeja had made a similar LBW appeal against Latham, but the DRS showed the ball bouncing over the stumps, resulting in India losing a review. However, Jadeja was not to be denied in his next over, ensuring that the wicket-keeper-batter walked back to the pavilion, seeing New Zealand's scorecard read 108/4.

New Zealand is in heavy trouble and requires a partnership that would take them out of this tough situation. After 32 overs, the side's score stood at 143/4 with Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips at the crease.
