Cricket lovers will know how much Virat Kohli has sacrificed over the years to stay fit. He has been an inspiration to budding cricketers and someone who took MS Dhoni's legacy forward in emphasising the fitness of players in the Indian team. Nowadays, youngsters spend a lot of time keeping their fitness levels at the optimum level instead of focusing only on their batting or bowling skills.

India is celebrating their 77th Independence Day on August 15. However, Virat is not resting on the national holiday. The former India captain shared a clip on his 'X' handle where he is at the gym, running on the treadmill, keeping his fitness up to the mark, ahead of the upcoming Asia Cup and the ODI World Cup.

"Chutti hai fir bhi bhaagna toh padega [It's a holiday but I got to run]," the 34-year-old wrote in the caption of the post. This little 38-second clip will surely serve as a motivation for many young cricketers who look up to the champion cricketer.

I draw inspiration from my past successes and learnings: Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli said in a recent interview how he gets inspiration from his past achievements. The prolific batter stated that he learned from every setback and managed to come back stronger.

“I draw inspiration from my past successes and learnings. Reflecting on the moments when I performed at my best and analyzing the areas where I can improve from losses helps me grow as a player. Every setback becomes an opportunity for me to come back stronger," Virat had said recently.

Virat's performances will be crucial during the next few months for India. The 'Men in Blue' will play in the Asia Cup, which will be a chance for them to get some last-minute preparations in place ahead of the World Cup in October-November.

As a 22-year-old, Virat won the ODI World Cup in 2011. Since then, India have been knocked out in two consecutive semifinals of the showpiece event. With the kind of fitness Virat has, there is no reason why he can't play in the 2027 edition of the ODI World Cup. However, a lot of things can change in four years' time and the Delhi batter would love to lift the World Cup for the second time in his career later this year.
