The Indian team failed to topple the defending champions Australia in a hard-fought semi-final clash in Cape Town, prolonging their trophy drought in ICC events. While Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur labelled her dismissal 'unlucky', Australian wicketkeeper Alyssa Healy had a different view on the Indian star's decisive wicket.
The Women in Blue were on the verge of sealing their place in the final of the T20 World Cup before Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur was run-out in one of the unluckiest dismissals of the tournament. Kaur, who was making her way back to the striker's end for the second run, could not make it to the crease after her bat got stuck in the pitch, allowing Heally to run her out.
The Indian skipper, who was inconsolable after her side's narrow defeat, felt her dismissal was unlucky since she would have made it into the crease if her bat did not get stuck into the pitch. However, Healy claimed that the Indian star all-rounder took the second run a bit too casually, leading to her demise.
“So, just a bizarre play. Harmanpreet can say all she likes that it was so unlucky. At the end of the day, she cruised back and probably could’ve been passed the crease, an extra two meters if she genuinely put in the effort. So, we’ll take it,” Healy told ABC sport.

I actually don’t take the bails a lot in that sort of scenario: Healy
The Aussie wicketkeeper shared an interesting detail about that runout when she revealed that she usually refrains from taking off the bails when the batters have seemingly made the crease. But for some reason, she took the bails off on this occasion and had a gut feeling that the batter was still out of the crease.
“It’s kind of funny actually. Belinda Clarke messaged me and said, well done for taking the bails. And it’s quite an interesting one because I actually don’t take the bails a lot in that sort of scenario. I think it’s a waste of time and I’ve got to put them back on.
“So, it’s annoying. But for some reason, I felt the need to take the bails off and it was like a bizarre moment where I looked at the umpire and said, I think that’s out. And I think Shooter at point was like. I also think that it’s out,” she added.
