Schedule for Hong Kong Sixers announced, India set to play Pakistan in their opening game

Several cricket leagues in the world are famous nowadays, especially after the advent of the franchise-based format. However, amidst them, one cricket event which stopped for some years and was seemingly almost forgotten, has finally come to the fore with some exciting news.
After confirming on their social media handle, Cricket Hong Kong has now released the schedule of the once-popular Hong Kong Sixes tournament. Notably, the last time the marquee event took place was in 2017. For the fans, the icing on the cake has been the fact that India are set to make a comeback to the Sixes tournament by playing against none other than the arch-rivals, Pakistan.
Notably, the tournament will kick off on November 1 and will conclude on November 3. Notably, this time the event will be grander as 12 teams are participating in the event. For the unversed, the Hong Kong Sixes is recognized by the International Cricket Council (ICC) and it used to take place annually.
The prestigious cricket event started way back in 1992, and India have won the tournament only once so far in the year 2005. While England have won on five occasions. Besides former world Champions like Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni have already featured in the exciting cricket event. Furthermore, the coveted cricket carnival will see 12 countries battling it out for the title.
These teams also include some associate nations which have expanded the wings of the annual event further. These cricketing nations are India, Pakistan, Australia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, England, New Zealand, South Africa, Oman, Bangladesh, UAE and Hong Kong, respectively. Interestingly, the tournament has its own set of rules to suit the six players per side taking the field. Additionally, the tournament will also host an exhibition game comprising the women's teams.

What are the unique rules of Hong Kong Sixes?
- 12 teams will participate instead of the usual eight teams playing in the tournament.
- It is a Nation-based cricket tournament and not a franchise-based event.
- Teams are allowed to field only 6 players per side.
- Each player of the team will bowl one over, except the wicketkeeper of the team.
- The Final game of the tournament will have eight balls over instead of the usual six balls an over.
- A team can only bowl a maximum of five overs.
- If five batters get dismissed before the allotted five overs, the fifth batter will only to be allowed as a runner and cannot bat for the team.
- A batter must retire after scoring 31 runs. However, he can come back to bat again if other team members get dismissed or retire.
