Cricketer KC Cariappa releases video of ex-girlfriend allegedly using drugs, police to probe

Indian bowler KC Cariappa has been making headlines recently after he filed a police report against his ex-girlfriend after she threatened to end his cricket career due to some personal issues between the two.

In the latest developments, Cariappa came forward to reveal that he left his girlfriend as she was addicted to drugs and was an alcoholic as well. In a major development in the same case, Cariappa reportedly shared some videos with the authorities where his ex-girlfriend can be seen doing drugs. 

City Police Commissioner B Dayananda came forward to opine that the legal implications are being examined and the authorities will act accordingly with the procedures. Furthermore, Karnataka Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara also leaned in on the matter and stated that Cariappa’s ex-girlfriend’s report to the police has been taken seriously and the police will move forward with proper proof. 

“We will examine the video content that has been released and where it has been released. Procedural implications will be examined. The source of the drugs or the details of the drug peddler is also a part of the investigation. Action will be taken based on evidence. We will examine the legal implications and accordingly proceed,” Dayananda was quoted as saying by the Indian Express. 

It is worth noting that Cariappa’s girlfriend had accused him of getting her pregnant and forcing her to take abortion pills, she also accused him of using drugs and went on to threaten his family members of the consequences that that could face from his actions. 

She also told the authorities that after feeding her the tablets, Cariappa tried to convince her to not press charges against him as he had planned to marry her. However, due to her excessive drug and alcohol usage, Cariappa had to call off the relationship.
