David Warner trolled for his 'You are lucky mate' comment on Virat Kohli's post, Australian batter clarifies
Virat Kohli came to David Warner's rescue and shut the trolls with his reply.
David Warner has once again made the news after his reply to former Indian skipper Virat Kohli's post ruffled feathers of the Indian fans on social media. Virat Kohli had shared a post on his Instagram account featuring his wife and Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, on which the Australian batter had commented "Lucky Man, Mate".
The Australian opener's remarks did not go down well with the Indian fans, who interpreted his comments in the wrong way and started questioning the explosive batter. With his comment taken out of context, Warner replied to one of the fans in the comment section, clarifying his intention behind the statement.
"We are very lucky to have supportive wives, It's a saying we use in Australia like I would say I'm lucky to have Candice Warner. So, when we say to others, we say "You're lucky, mate" or "You’re blessed, mate". Interpretation is always going to be different," he clarified.
While the Australians' clarification received support from many fans, a few still continued with their questions. But the trolls were shut down for good when the former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, himself came to the aid of the Australian cricketer, replying to his comment, "I know, mate."
The Indian batting ace and the explosive Aussie batter share an amicable friendship with the latter even coming to the aid of Kohli when he was struggling for runs earlier this year. The Indian star was even seen engaging in light-hearted banter with Warner when the diminutive Australian became the talk of the town after swapping faces with Allu Arjun in a viral dance number on his social media handles. Kohli had replied to his hilarious video, asking him, "Mate, are you ok?".
