'Didn't realize we lost the game' - Sakshi Dhoni uploads cheeky post after MS Dhoni's knock steals spotlight during DC vs CSK

Chennai Super Kings faced their maiden loss of the IPL 2024 against Delhi Capitals on Sunday. The 191-run target proved to be too much for CSK as their batting lineup succumbed to the DC‘s tactical bowling mix. But even when the loss was pretty much on the wall, MS Dhoni stood in the middle and launched a series of big hits. The Vizag crowd seemed to be on the edge of their seats as the CSK greyhead looked in fine touch and brought back the good old days. Sakshi Sing, Dhoni’s wife, took to Instagram to share a picture of Dhoni receiving an Electric Striker of The Match award and highlighted the fact that the winner of the game was overshadowed after Dhoni’s innings. 

“First of all, welcome back Rishabh Pant! Hi there Mahi! Didn’t realize we lost the game,” she wrote on Instagram story.

Dhoni in his brief innings scored 37 runs in 17 balls and smashed four boundaries and three sixes. It is worth noting that he had notched up a half-century against the same opponent in 2018 and CSK went on to win the trophy that year. The year was also the comeback year of the franchise after serving a layoff for two years. 

I believe Ruturaj Gaikwad shares the same approach like me: Dhoni 

The former India captain has been dominating the headlines after he stepped aside from the captaincy at CSK. He had led the franchise to five championship titles and has been their sole skipper since its inception. Ruturaj Gaikwad has been entrusted with the leadership responsibilities and Dhoni himself had recently drawn parallels between him and Gaikwad concerning their on-field conduct. 

“There’s a new captain, ah! The muscle memory is definitely there. But I’m not someone who reacts excessively, especially when someone’s just starting out. I believe Rutu (Gaikwad) shares the same approach. It was entertaining to see Rachin chase the ball around the field,” said Dhoni in a viral video from a recent CSK event.
