Indian fans did not have the best of days as the men in blue yet again succumbed to a defeat in the knockout stages of an ICC event. Having dominated oppositions throughout the T20 World Cup 2022 campaign, no one would have expected India to suffer a ten-wicket defeat against England in the semi-finals. Despite India’s struggles in the game, the only positive for the team was Hardik Pandya who kept the team in for a hunt with the bat and in the field.
The 29-year-old played a remarkable innings of 63 off 33 balls with four fours and five sixes and tormented the England bowling line-up in the final overs. In fact, it was Hardik’s efforts which led India to a competitive total of 168 for 6 in the 20 overs as they never seemed like getting to 150 at one stage of the game.
Pandya was spotted gearing up the fans while fielding and he was quite determined to step up when it mattered despite overthrows and mis-fields when he bowled. Although he could not keep the England batters under control with the ball, he managed to win the Indian hearts with an inspiring message on Instagram after the semi-final exit.

Hardik also mentioned the positive side of building a strong bond with the members of the side. He went on to credit the support staff for their works and wasn’t willing to give up on the fight for the title.
“Devastated, gutted, hurt. Tough to take, for all of us. To my teammates, I’ve enjoyed the bond that we built - we fought for each other every step of the way. Thank you to our support staff for their endless dedication and hardwork for months on end. To our fans who backed us everywhere we went, we’re forever grateful. It wasn’t meant to be but we’ll reflect and keep fighting,” Hardik wrote on Instagram.
