Star England cricketer Joe Root posted a hilarious Tweet on Thursday, May 18, while responding to a video where he was playing cricket with his teammate, Ben Stokes, on the streets of London. In the video, Root can be seen bowling to Stokes on a crowded street in London and much to his delight he disturbed the timber of his Test captain.
Furthermore, in the video, the batting star ran in jubilation with no one stopping him. Responding to the video, Root shared the London Map tracking a long journey between two places. Sharing the photograph, Root hilariously said that the map covered his footsteps during his running celebration after dismissing Stokes and wrote that he doesn’t remember where he stopped.
“Don’t remember where I stopped running tbh,” wrote Root.
Notably, both Joe Root and Ben Stokes are currently taking part in IPL 2023, while Joe Root is a part of Rajasthan Royals’ squad, Ben Stokes is with Chennai Super Kings.
Root played just one game while Stokes made two appearances in the ongoing IPL 2023
Root recently made his IPL debut during RR’s 11th fixture of the ongoing season against Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the only innings played so far in the tournament, the England batter has scored 10 runs and has also bowled two overs giving away 14 runs.
On the other hand, Stokes played the first two matches for CSK scoring 15 runs across two innings and also bowled one over giving away 18 runs. The all-rounder couldn’t feature in the rest of the games and was due to a toe injury and still finds himself out of the team despite recovering as all four overseas spots have been sealed in the playing XI.
Stokes and Root will leave their respective team’s camps following their last league matches to prepare for the one-off Test against Ireland scheduled to begin on June 1. The game is being viewed as a preparation for the all-important Ashes series as England look to regain the urn for the first time since 2015.
