DP World ILT20 2025: Will Jacks joins MI Emirates as wildcard for remainder of season

Hard-hitting England all-rounder Will Jacks has been signed by MI Emirates as a wild-card entry for the remainder of the DP World ILT20 2025 season. His inclusion was made ahead of the playoffs, giving MI Emirates an experienced batter and a handy off-spinner.

The 26-year-old recently played for Pretoria Capitals in SA20 2025 but had a mixed season as he scored 225 runs at an average of 25 and a strike rate of 135.54 with two half-centuries in 10 matches. His bowling returns were decent, with four wickets in seven innings with an economy of 6.47. Pretoria Capitals struggled overall and failed to qualify for the playoffs, leading to his availability for ILT20.

Will Jacks bought by Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025 auction

The English opener has been associated with Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) as he was bought by Mumbai Indians for INR 5.25 crore in the IPL 2025 auction. His ability to dominate in the powerplays with an approach makes him a valuable asset for MI Emirates, especially when paired with Andre Fletcher, who has been in good form with 138 runs in four matches.

Meanwhile, MI Emirates are preparing to face Sharjah Warriorz in the Eliminator at the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi on February 6. The Nicholas Pooran-led side finished the league stage with 10 points, the same as Warriorz, but held a superior net run rate (+0.805), securing their spot in the playoffs.
