One of England’s best pacers, Stuart Broad hung his boots on 29 July 2023, after Ashes 2023. The 37-year-old played 167 Tests for England, picked 604 wickets, and became the second pacer with the highest wickets in the format after James Anderson. In his honour and contribution to England cricket, Nottinghamshire named a stand after him as hosts took on West Indies in the second Test of the series on July 18.
Broad was born in Nottinghamshire and also played for the county. He then played for Leicestershire and Marylebone Cricket Club. After his retirement, he was honoured as the Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) in King Charles' New Year's honours. Coming back to the stand, Broad himself inaugurated the stand at the Trent Bridge Stadium just before the game.

Ben Duckett unleashes mayhem in Nottinghamshire
Talking about the second Test, West Indies won the toss and opted to bowl first as Englan unleashed mayhem at the start of the innings. Zak Crawley went back for a duck and Ben Duckett came all guns blazing. England created a record for scoring the fastest team fifty as they reached the figure in just 4.2 overs. Ducket walked back after scoring a blistering 71 runs off 59 deliveries. However, Duckett’s involvement was undecided as he was about to leave for his first child’s birth ahead of the game.

"There is a plan in place for Ben and his partner. We will have to make a decision if it happens before the game and we are batting. If it happens during the Test, Ben will go and then return to the team. He is incredibly eager to play this Test match, but the message from me and Baz (head coach Brendon McCullum) is that family comes first. Whatever decision he makes, he has our full support,” said Stokes ahead of the game.
