Indian cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar's daughter Sara Tendulkar expressed her grief on social media after some deepfake photos of her emerged on 'X' (formerly known as Twitter).

In a story shared on her Instagram account the young lady clarified that she is not on X and urged the platform to look into the accounts that are trying to impersonate her.

"Social media is a wonderful space for all of us to share our joys, sorrows, and daily activities. However, it is disconcerting to see the misuse of technology as it takes away from the truth and authenticity of the internet. I have come across some deepfake photos of me which are far from reality. A few accounts on X (formerly Twitter) have obviously been created with the intent to impersonate me and mislead people. I do not have an account on X, and I hope X looks into such accounts and suspends them. Entertainment should never come at the expense of the truth. Let's encourage communication that's based on trust and reality," Sara wrote in her story.

Deepfake photos and videos have become an infamous and scary trend in recent times. Recently, Bollywood actor Rashmika Mandanna was a victim of a deepfake video and the legendary Amitabh Bachchan came out in support of her. Now, Sara's Instagram story once again highlights the negative aspects of technology and social media.

Indian team gave their all for us throughout the ODI World Cup 2023: Sara Tendulkar

After India's heartbreaking defeat against Australia in the finals of the ODI World Cup 2023, Sara congratulated the winning team and lauded the 'Men in Blue' for playing some excellent cricket throughout the competition.

"Congratulations to Australia on their sixth World Cup win. On the most important day of the biggest stage, they played better cricket. Hard luck Team India, just one bad day in an otherwise sterling tournament can be heartbreaking. I can imagine the agony of the players, fans, and well-wishers and what they must be going through. Losses are a part of the sport, but let us remember that this unit gave their all for us throughout the tournament," Sara wrote in one of her Instagram stories.
