Ahead of the first Test against West Indies, Team India shared pictures of their new kit featuring the lead shirt sponsor, which has garnered massive attention from the fans for all the wrong reasons. Unimpressed by the kit, fans have taken to their social media handle to express their disappointment with the new kit.

Notably, the BCCI collaborated with sportswear manufacturer, Adidas and unveiled the new Team India jerseys for all three formats. In addition to this, Dream11 won the bid for the lead shirt sponsor for team India and will make their debut in the forthcoming Test match against the Windies.

Pictures of Team India players donning the new kit featuring Dream11 have been making rounds on social media. With this, numerous fans have expressed their disappointment regarding the look of the kit that features the lead sponsor’s logo.

For the unversed, the Fantasy sports platform Dream11 bagged the sponsorship rights from July 2023 to March 2026. It is understood that the platform won the bid with a base price of INR 358 crore as reported by the Economic Times.

Team India will resume their WTC cycle with West Indies tour

In doing so, Dream11 will have their logo on the front of the men’s, women’s and U-19 national teams. It is worth noting that, team India donned the new Test jersey against Australia in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2021-23 final at The Oval in London.

However, the jersey was received well by the fans as the team’s name was on the front of the jersey. Rohit Sharma and Co. endured a crushing defeat at the hands of the Aussies in the WTC final. After a rare month-long break, team India are back in action as they play West Indies in a multi-format series, scheduled to kickstart on July 12.

The two sides will lock horns in two Tests followed by three ODIs and five T20Is to be played in West Indies and the USA.
