Team India is all set to continue their ODI World Cup 2023 campaign as they gear up to take on Afghanistan in their second game of the tournament at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday, October 11.
On the back of a resounding win against the Pat Cummins-led Australia, India will look to continue their momentum and register their second victory of the tournament in the second game.
As the match approaches, it will undoubtedly be a special occasion for ace batter Virat Kohli. Born and bred in Delhi, the crowd in the Arun Jaitley stadium will be waiting in anticipation to welcome Kohli to his home ground. It is also worth noting that there is a pavilion named after Virat Kohli in the stadium as well.
Talking of the same, Kohli participated in a chat with Indian batter KL Rahul, where he opened up about playing in front of a stand named after him.
"For me, that is the stadium where I grew up playing age-group Ranji cricket. I also played for India there. Those memories stay fresh in your mind. You can feel it because that is where everything started, selectors saw you for the first time and gave you an opportunity. It is special to go back and play at Arun Jaitley Stadium," Virat Kohli said in a video shared by the BCCI.
