Indian cricketing legend Anil Kumble attends 76th Cannes Film Festival with wife Chetana

The former India legendary leg spinner, Anil Kumble, and his wife, Chetana Kumble, graced their presence at the 76th Cannes Film Festival in France. Kumble became the first cricketer in the ongoing film festival to attend the event apart from the Indian film industry.

The former spin wizard dropped the exciting update, as he shared a picture from the French Riviera, on his social media handle with his wife, Chetana Kumble. In the picture, the couple can be seen decked up in their matching black outfit as Kumble wore a black velvet suit while Chetana looked elegant in a black saree.

“Get set go…#festivaldecannes,” captioned Kumble on his Instagram handle.

Selectors missed a trick for the WTC Final: Anil Kumble

During an interview on JioCinema, the legendary spinner shared his views on India’s World Test Championship (WTC) Final squad. Kumble opined that the think tank should have selected seasoned wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha ahead of KS Bharat in the setup.

"I have a feeling that the selectors missed a trick for the World Test Championship (final), he’s (Wriddhiman Saha) someone who should be a part of that squad. I know KS Bharat is in the team, he’s done well whenever he’s got the opportunity but Wriddhi Saha is outstanding behind the stumps and he’s done exceptionally well whenever the opportunity has come his way even in front of the stumps with his batting," Kumble told on JioCinema.

Notably, Saha has played an integral role for the defending champions Gujarat Titans, both with the bat and as a keeper in the ongoing IPL 2023. In 13 appearances, the veteran right-hander has collected 275 runs with his highest score being 81 runs, coming against LSG.

Meanwhile, the selected players will turn their attention to the eagerly anticipated ICC WTC 2021-23 Final, following the conclusion of the top-tier league. Team India will lock horns with fierce rivals Australia in a One-off Test match for the coveted mace, starting on June 7, at the Oval, in London.
