‘Franchise is trying to make a difference’ - Jonty Rhodes lauds Lucknow Super Giants' initiative for wheelchair users

Ever since the franchise’s inception in 2022, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have been one of the most popular sides in the Indian Premier League(IPL). Recently, a clip shared by India’s wheelchair cricket team captain, Somjeet Singh, showed how the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow has started special provisions for wheelchair users in the stadium.
A user named, Somjeet Singh, revealed how the franchise in Lucknow, has built separate elevated stands for specially-abled people. Furthermore, he also revealed that the stadium does not charge wheelchair users for the tickets, with normal attendees having to pay the nominal prices. Seeing the post, the fielding coach of Lucknow Super Giants, Jonty Rhodes, took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to reveal how proud he was of the franchise for trying to make a difference.

Lucknow Super Giants jump to fourth place in IPL 2024 standings
Speaking of Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2024, the side has managed to put in a good performance in the tournament so far. Having played three games so far, Lucknow has managed to win two matches, with their only loss coming against Rajasthan Royals in their first game of the season.
The side recently breezed past Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium and jumped to fourth place in the IPL 2024 standings, where they have four points in three matches.

They will now shift their focus onto Gujarat Titans, whom they face in the 21st game of the tournament at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday, April 7. It is worth noting that Gujarat sit in fifth place with four points in three matches as well, staying behind Lucknow on net run rate.
