Here's Yashasvi Jaiswal's latest Instagram post:

Historic moment for cricket

The Indian men's cricket team is set to make its debut appearance at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, following the announcement by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) of a 15-member squad along with five standby players. The tournament, scheduled to run from September 28 to October 8, will feature the T20 format and all matches will be held at the Zhejiang University of Technology Pingfeng Cricket Field.

Ruturaj Gaikwad, the 26-year-old talent, has been entrusted with the captaincy of the Indian squad. Notable inclusions in the team are left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh, who emerged as the leading wicket-taker for Punjab Kings during IPL 2023, and Yashasvi Jaiswal of Rajasthan Royals, who made a stunning century on his Test debut against the West Indies. Additionally, Rinku Singh, recognized for his explosive performances with the Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2023, has also earned a spot in the squad.

This marks a historic moment as cricket returns to the Asian Games, with previous appearances in Guangzhou in 2010 and Incheon in 2014. Bangladesh claimed victory in the inaugural edition, while Sri Lanka currently holds the title of defending champion. Afghanistan has been the runner-up on both occasions. Before this, the Indian men's cricket team's participation in multi-sport events was limited to the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, where they played in a 50-over format. The Asian Games in Hangzhou promises to be a thrilling showcase of cricket talent on the continental stage.

Currently Team India is training at the National Cricket Academy, Bangalore ahead of their all Asian Games opener on October 3rd.
