‘Garden mein ghoomne wale bande’ - Rohit Sharma hilariously trolls youngsters after historic series win

During the second Test against England in Vizag, India skipper Rohit Sharma was caught on the stump pic asking the young cricketers to refrain from acting like 'roaming in the garden' after the day’s play and to rest well, so that they remain alert on the following day. The audio of the same instantly went viral on social media and after a historic series win over England in Dharamshala, Rohit decided to address the matter.

Rohit in a rib-tickling manner named Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Dhruv Jurel and Sarfaraz Khan as ‘Garden mein ghomne wale bande’, as his caption read after posting a pic alongside the youngsters after a historic series win in Dharamsala. Notably, in the absence of Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, and Mohammed Shami among other players, the youngsters rose up to the occasion and played some brilliant cricket to help India clinch the series 4-1. The skipper was very happy with their performances throughout the series and lauded them after every match.

All the youngsters needed was a little bit of assurance and a platform: Rohit

After the series win, Rohit opened up on the contributions made by the youngsters in helping India register a massive win over England. The 36-year-old mentioned that all the cricketers are blessed with skills, and all they needed was a little bit of assurance and a platform to perform at the highest level. He added that the team management gave them a lot of comfort and that’s the reason, they got the desired result.

“All of these guys are extremely talented. All they needed was a little bit of assurance and a platform. We didn't want to keep putting pressure on them. We wanted to make sure our job at the start of the series was to give them the comfort, and assurance, that they're going to play all five Test matches. Because we may not accept it, but it is the fact that it plays in everyone's mind, 'Okay, if I don't get it right in a couple of Test matches, I may get dropped'. The insecurity always creeps in,” Rohit told JioCinema.

Meanwhile, following the series win, India became the number-one ranked Test team in the world. They are also on the top of the WTC points table at the moment.
