'Give me your passport, I will apply for your visa' - Aakash Chopra bats for Shivam Dube's inclusion in T20 WC squad

Aakash Chopra has praised Shivam Dube for his performance in the ongoing IPL season. The former Indian cricketer made a huge statement on the southpaw's chances in the Indian squad for the T20 WC 2024. Taking to his YouTube channel, the former Indian opener claimed that one just cannot dislike Dube.

Aakash praised the six-hitting abilities of the CSK batter and was awestruck by his power-hitting. Chopra claimed that no Indian batter can smash boundaries at will against both pacers and spinners like Dube. Chopra added that the opposition teams fear deploying spinners when Dube enters the crease. 

"Shivam Dube - how will you not like this player? The way this player is playing, the way he is showing his power and hitting sixes, name an Indian striker who is hitting sixes more consistently than him against both pace and spin. As soon as he comes, the spinners' overs end," said Chopra on his YouTube channel.

Dube scored an unbeaten 66*(38) in the match against MI, which included 10 fours and two sixes. His knock and Ruturaj Gaikwad's 69(40) helped CSK put on a good platform for MS Dhoni to come and play an impactful cameo lower down the order. Dube has been tremendous as a batter in the ongoing league.

In six innings in IPL 2024, the 30-year-old has 242 runs at a batting average of 60.50 at a batting strike rate of 163.51 including a couple of fifties. Chopra added that the star batter spared none against MI barring Jasprit Bumrah. Aakash claimed that Dube has the reputation of smashing the bowlers so much so that they are already at backfoot by default.

He asked the Indian management to send him to the West Indies and funnily claimed to send the passport so that he could help his visa get finished soon. The former Indian cricketer claimed that he knew someone who could help Dube get documentation quickly. 

"His reputation reaches before him, that he hits a lot, so you shouldn't take a risk with him, and you will bowl all fast bowlers. He hit the fast bowlers also wholeheartedly. He didn't spare anyone apart from (Jasprit) Bumrah. Send him to the West Indies now. The consulate is next to my home. Give me your passport, and I will apply for your visa," added Chopra.
