August 18, 2024, marked a year of Indian cricketer, Rinku Singh, being involved with the Men in Blue. It was the same date last year when Rinku was deservedly granted his first India cap while the Indian team toured Ireland for a three-match T20I series.
The 26-year-old batter took to Instagram and shared a couple of delighful pictures in which he could be seen smiling beamingly with the cap in his hand, as well as a picture of Bumrah handing it over with the camp being all smiles for the Aligarh-born. Rinku had to endure a challenging time up until getting selected for the 15-member squad for the Ireland tour, which the Indians managed to win by a 2-0 margin with the third game getting abandoned due to incessant rain.
Although Rinku didn't get the opportunity to bat in the first game, he made full use of his chance and scored an impetus-boosting 38 off 21, comprising two fours and three sixes.
Rinku not considered for 2024/25 Duleep Trophy season
Rinku, who hasn't got a chance to don the Indian whites yet, wasn't considered for any of the four squads of the Duleep Trophy 2024/25, which has his Indian colleagues such as KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, and Shubman Gill added to take part in the competition, in a bid to get them acclimatized to playing the longest format in home conditions.
