Following the carnage from the Gujarat Titans' batters in the first innings, there was a slight delay in the commencement of the Lucknow Super Giants innings after some confusion between GT skipper Hardik Pandya and the umpires. Apparently, the home side were looking to sub in Srikar Bharat for Wriddhiman Saha, which was not allowed to take place by the on-field umpires.
Gujarat Titans' wicketkeeper-batter Wriddhiman Saha, who played a swashbuckling innings earlier in the match, had to rush onto the field after the umpires disallowed Hardik Pandya's move to sub in Srikar Bharat as the wicketkeeper for the second innings. Saha was in such a hurry that he wore his trousers the other way around with the sponsors logo at the wrong place.
However, Saha did not last long in the field as he was eventually subbed off after the conclusion of the second over. Bharat, who was initially geared to take his compatriot's place, took Saha's place behind the wickets. The veteran Indian wicketkeeper-batter is suspected to have sustained an injury during his batting innings as he was not moving freely behind the stumps.
