The Indian Premier League keeps the fans entertained with its breathtaking cricketing action on the field. However, at times the fans also get to see some funny celebrations from the players who give rib-tickling moments with their antics on the field. A similar incident took place during Match 35 of IPL 2023 between Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians on Tuesday, April 25.
During the 13th over of the second innings, left-arm spinner Noor Ahmad dismissed Suryakumar Yadav as he took a brilliant catch off his own bowling. The 18-year-old was immediately pumped up after getting the scalp of the big-hitting batter and funnily celebrated the wicket as he dropped the ball while trying to throw it in the air in jubilation. He further picked up the ball again and finally threw it in the air to celebrate.
Coming back to the match, after being put in to bat first, Gujarat lost their opener Wriddhiman Saha early in the third over itself. However, Shubman Gill batted through the powerplay to get his side off to a decent start with his knock of 56 off 34 balls. However, GT lost Gill and Vijay Shankar in consecutive overs to be 101/4 after 12.2 overs.
David Miller (46 off 22) and Abhinav Manohar (42 off 21) got together at the crease and added 71 runs off 35 balls to help their side get to 207/6 in the first innings with Rahul Tewatia (20* off 5) providing the finishing touch in the death overs.

In reply, MI’s chase got off to the worst possible start as they lost their captain Rohit Sharma in the second over itself. Cameron Green walked in at number three and tried to take the attack on the opposition with his 33 off 26. But MI kept on losing wickets from the other end as Rashid Khan dismissed Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma.
Noor Ahmad also joined the party and got the prized scalps of Green, Tim David, and Suryakumar Yadav to break the back of Mumbai’s batting. As a result, MI could only reach 152/9 in the second innings handing a massive 55-run victory to Gujarat. Noor Ahmad was the pick of the bowlers for GT as he finished his spell with figures of 3/37 in four overs while Rashid Khan (2/27) and Mohit Sharma (2/38) also got into the wickets column.
