Michael Vaughan, former England captain, turned 49 on Sunday, October 29. He has received countless heartfelt wishes from former cricketers as well as fans.
Vaughan is very famous for his tongue-in-cheek comments and often gets engaged in banter with former India batter Wasim Jaffer on the microblogging platform. Interestingly, Jaffer wished the English cricketer in a humorous way on his special day. Jaffer took to X and shared a picture of a cake which had a screenshot of a post made by Vaughan in November 2022. The post struck a chord with cricket enthusiasts and players alike, garnering considerable attention on social media platforms.
"England are the best white ball team in the world. They have an incredible group of players, thoroughly deserve to now hold both white ball WCs .. In Ben stokes they have a player who just knows how to win the big moments .. Great teams need Great individuals.. England have plenty," read Vaughan's post last year.
"Happy b'day to the man who loves to eat his own words," Jaffer captioned the post.

England struggled at the bottom of the ODI World Cup points table
Reigning champions, England, are stumbling in the ongoing ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 as they currently sit at the bottom of the points table, having won only one game. Their solitary win came against Shakib Al Hasan-led Bangladesh, who have also won one game so far in the tournament.
England locked horns with two-time champions India in their sixth game at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. The Men in Blue are unbeaten in the ongoing tournament, having won all games so far in the tournament.
Speaking of the game, England skipper Jos Buttler won the toss and opted to field first. India got off to a dismal start in the game and posted 229 in allotted overs. Rohit Sharma spearheaded India’s innings, scoring 87 off 101 deliveries, including 10 boundaries and three maximums.
