Hardik Pandya begins bowling ahead of IPL 2024, shares practice video

Star India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been making rapid progress on his path to recovery as he’s been sharing constant updates with his fans on social media. Notably, Pandya injured his ankle during the ODI World Cup 2023 fixture against Bangladesh in Pune and was eventually ruled out of the tournament midway.

Ever since his injury, the 30-year-old has been sharing his progress with the fans on social media and recently shared another video of him sweating hard to regain full fitness ahead of the action-packed season of cricket. In the latest video, the all-rounder can be seen running in and bowling under scorching heat. The all-rounder looked at ease running to the crease and bowled effortlessly giving good signs of his bowling fitness.

In the video, Pandya calls the training ground his temple which has taught him a lot in his 17-year-long cricketing journey.

"Good to be back to my place for what do you call improvement. I'm feeling very good after coming back here. I treat (this ground) as a temple, because the amount of things I've learnt on this ground, it's like a temple for me. What it has taught me is priceless. My journey started literally 17 years back on this very ground. I will make sure everything possible today, and every day," he says in the video.

Hardik Pandya will be captaining Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024

Notably, Pandya will have a lot riding on his shoulders once he fully recovers as he will be taking the field as a full-time captain for Mumbai Indians in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Gujarat-born cricketer was acquired by the franchise through a player-trade as the five-time champions paid INR 15 Crore to Gujarat Titans to bring Pandya onboard along with an undisclosed transfer fee.

Following the deal, MI even appointed him as the captain for the upcoming season replacing Rohit Sharma who has led Mumbai to all of their five titles. Hence, Pandya has huge shoes to fill and will be under tremendous pressure to replicate Rohit’s success as a skipper.
