Former Australia batter Darren Lehmann took a dig at England pacer Ollie Robison for his remarks on Australia batters, claiming they have struggled against Mark Wood's pace in the third Ashes Test at Headingley in Leeds. Notably, the speedster emerged as the Player of the Match, as he finished with figures of 5/34 and 2/66. With the bat, the 33-year-old scored 24 and 16* across both innings.
England staged a stunning comeback in the third Test, winning by three wickets. Stuart Broad, Chris Woakes, and Moeen Ali were the star bowlers who got England back into the series. Ben Stokes and Co. will be hoping for a win in the fourth Test in Manchester to keep the Ashes series alive, while Australia will eye for a victory to clinch the prestigious urn.
Robinson wrote in his column for Wisden, saying how great Wood was with his blistering pace in Leeds. The 29-year-old even cited examples while explaining how Australian batters Marnus Labuschagne and in-form Usman Khawaja struggled against Wood.
Meanwhile, Lehmann mocked Robinson after reading the latter’s comments. The 53-year-old laughed them off in a tweet as he wrote, “He talks a lot."

If England were fully fit you wouldn't even get a game Ollie: Clarke
Ollie Robinson's comments were criticized not just by Darren Lehmann, but also by former Australian captain Michael Clarke. He teased the English pacer, claiming that if England were fully fit, he would not have been selected to feature in the ongoing Ashes series. The 29-year-old has also faced flak from former Australian cricketers, including Matthew Hayden and Ricky Ponting.
"He needs to shoosh. If England were fully fit you wouldn't even get a game, Ollie. I actually don't know what he is doing. If James Anderson is saying all this, he's got the street cred..this dude has been around for five minutes," Clarke said during the Big Sports Breakfast podcast.
