South Africa veteran pacer Dane Paterson responded to his critics on social media who doubted his selection for the national team. The 35-year-old pacer responded to the critical comments he was getting after getting selected for the series against Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka against whom he delivered a good performance for the Rainbow Nation.
The South Africa team has topped the charts of the WTC rankings after beating Sri Lanka in the two-match Test series. It is safe to say the Proteas enjoyed the outing in the series and made sure they dominated the crucial moments despite some fight shown by the Sri Lankan team in the second Test.
One of the stars for South Africa in the Sri Lanka series was 35-year-old pacer Dane Paterson who was the Player of the Match in the second Test. Paterson took seven wickets in the game at Gqerberha which included a five-fer in the first innings. The scalps included big wickets of Dinesh Chandimal and Kusal Mendis, among others. Paterson responded to his critics on X (formerly known as Twitter) who were not happy with his selection in the squad.
“Hi to all the haters that doubted my selection. This one is for you. Thanks for all the negative comments about my selection. At the end of the day, it’s not about you. It’s about the team. @PoppingCreaseSA please relook at my first class stats before having a GO at me. Cheers,” wrote Paterson.
