After losing two back-to-back games in the ongoing Women’s Premier League (WPL 2024), Royal Challengers Bangalore returned to the winning note against UP Warriorz. Skipper Smriti Mandhana and Ellyse Perry played some brilliant cricket, which helped Bangalore win the match by 23 runs at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Notably, during the match, one of Ellyse Perry’s sixes smashed the sponsor's car window, which was parked in the stadium, near the stands. The incident took place in the 19th over of the match, as the Australia international marched forward and smacked it over mid-on region, which went on to crash the car window.
After the end of the match, Perry reacted to the incident and hilariously mentioned that she doesn’t have insurance in India and hoped no one would charge her for the incident.

“I was bit a worried. I don’t have any insurance here. Hope no one charges me,” Perry said while talking to Smriti in a video released by the Women’s Premier League.
“It was a fluke (laughs). I am glad someone has hit it. It was sitting there over many nights and it has gone closer a few times but we have got there,” Perry added.

Perry shares her love for Masala Chai
Interestingly, RCB skipper Smriti Mandhana revealed that Elysse Perry usually drinks 12 cups of masala chai daily. Adding to that, Perry mentioned she drank one every hour and at least 10 cups during the shoot days.
“What time is the best time to drink masala chai?” Perry asked.
“Not at your time for sure. You probably drink 12 cups of masala chai,” Mandhana said.
“At least 12,” Perry replied.
“For Indians, I think it’s 9:30 in the morning and 4:00 in the evening. Two cups is enough I think. She drinks 12 cups guys,” Mandhana added.
“Yeah, on the hour, every hour,” Perry hilariously added.
“Yeah, after every hour. I think during the shoots you had 10 cups a day. I used to say, Pez (Perry) don’t drink so much. That was funny,” Smriti concluded.
