Veteran India allrounder Yuvraj Singh has expressed his gratitude to the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) by penning a heartfelt note after the governing body named a stand after him at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. Yuvraj was one of the guests of honour during the first T20I between India and Australia at the venue on Tuesday, September 20.

Apart from Yuvraj, even veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh was honored by the PCA and got a stand named after him. Even the latter was present at the venue for the occasion. The naming ceremony of the stands honoring both the World Cup-winning players took place ahead of the opening T20I.

Great day: Yuvraj Singh's heartwarming message after being honoured by PCA

Taking to his official social media handles, Yuvraj acknowledged PCA for the memorable evening and wrote, "Great day at @pcacricket, meeting the hon. Punjab CM @BhagwantMann1 ji & the boys in blue! Humbled to have a stand named after me at my home ground, congrats to my brother @harbhajan3 for receiving this honour too."

During the occasion, two stands were formally renamed and both Harbhajan and Yuvraj Singh were felicitated by the PCA in the presence of the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Yuvraj had worn the India blazer whereas, Harbhajan wore a sky blue blazer that he usually wears during his broadcast stints. Meanwhile, Yuvraj was also seen interacting with some of the Indian players including skipper Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya.

Both Yuvraj and Harbhajan were integral members of many of India's historic triumphs during their heydays including the famous Natwest tri-series win on English soil in 2002, T20 World Cup 2007, the Commonwealth Bank series victory down under during the 2007/08 season, 2011 World Cup, among others.

Even though both players are retired, they make appearances in tournaments organized for the retired players. Yuvraj is playing the Road Safety World Series 2022 where he is an integral part of the India Legends.

The veteran offie, on the other hand, had led the India Maharajas during the exhibition match against the World Giants last week and is currently leading Manipal Tigers in the ongoing edition of the Legends League Cricket.
