‘I can eat the same thing for the next six months, three times a day’ - Virat Kohli opens up on dietary discipline
Kohli is currently the leading run-scorer of IPL 2024.
Virat Kohli, the architect behind bringing a fitness revolution in Indian cricket opened up on his diet plans and revealed that he can eat the same food three times a day for at least six months. Ahead of Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s match against Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, the star India batter revealed the challenges of maintaining fitness and especially the necessary steps he takes in terms of dietary discipline.
The former India captain stated that the basic thing behind right fitness is the food. He added that a person can go to the gym and work hard and opined that the same discipline needs to be shown while consuming food. He added that tastebuds can at times want different things but also mentioned that he doesn't face problems with that as he can eat the same food for six months, three times a day.
“You can go to the gym and work hard... But with food, it is very different. You have taste buds, and it's linked to your own mind wanting something and not wanting something. I can eat the same thing for the next six months, three times a day. I have no issues,” Kohli said while speaking to Star Sports.
Kohli previously stated how he changed as a cricketer after focusing more on his fitness. Currently, he is the leading run-scorer in the Indian Premier League history and also of the ongoing season but his franchise, Royal Challengers Bengaluru are once again struggling. Barring Kohli’s form and glimpses of Dinesh Karthik’s finishing ability, there have been no positives for RCB this season.
Next up, the Faf du Plessis-led side will take on Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, who have their own struggles at the moment. Both teams have won just one match each so far and are bouncing here and there on the points table but a win can give them the stability that each team is looking for.
