Royal Challengers Bangalore took on the Lucknow Super Giants in the 15th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League 2023 on Monday, April 10, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The RCB top-order batters went bonkers in the first innings as Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell notched up half-centuries to keep their team in a dominant position.

The innings witnessed the three players smashing numerous fours and sixes, and skipper Faf du Plessis hitting a monstrous 115 mt six, the biggest of the current season thus far. Glenn Maxwell, who was on the non-striker’s end, was awestruck after witnessing Faf’s shot, but Kohli’s reaction to the shot grabbed everyone’s attention.

While Du Plessis himself was stunned after hitting the ball into the stand, Kohli and Maxwell’s reaction turned out to be one of the best moments of the day. Kohli was flabbergasted when he watched the ball go over the fence while sitting in the dugout. After witnessing the shot, Kohli was seen telling one of his teammates- “I couldn't have hit that far”

Faf du Plessis looked in tremendous form as he finished with a score of 46-ball 79*. It was actually Kohli who got the game going with his fiery opening knock of 61. Kohli took the Lucknow Super Giants bowlers for a ride as he punished them by hitting four fours and as many sixes in the 44 deliveries that he faced during his time on the crease.

Faf and Maxwell carried the momentum forward and brought up a 100-run partnership off just 44 deliveries. After Du Plessis, Maxwell too got a half-century but was unfortunately dismissed in the final over. While Du Plessis notched up five fours and as many sixes, Maxwell’s knock included three fours and six big maximums.

Thanks to the combined efforts of the top-order batters, RCB managed to post 212 runs on the scoreboard while losing just two wickets.
