During a Promotional event for the RIGI, an anchor inquired about the important aspects of MS Dhoni's life and whether his hunger for success was still intact. In response, the legendary former Indian captain said that his aim was never to be remembered solely as a good cricketer rather he always emphasized the importance of being remembered as a good human being.
Answering his question, the Legendary Indian former captain said, "You know, right from the start, I was not into that people should remember me as a good cricketer. I always said, you know, I want to be remembered as a good human being. You know, and if you want to be a good human being, it's a process till you die," MSD said.
The last time MS Dhoni was seen playing a cricket match was during the last IPL season in 2023, where he led his team Chennai Super Kings to victory for the fifth time in the prestigious tournament.
Many people speculated that this would be Dhoni's last IPL season and that he would retire from the league. However, during the post-match presentation, Dhoni announced that he would give it one more shot and come back to play another season for his team and fans worldwide, provided his fitness allowed it. He mentioned that he would assess his fitness before making a final decision.
When it comes to his international career, MS Dhoni is widely regarded as one of the most successful captains of all time. He played 350 ODIs for India, scoring 10,773 runs with ten centuries and 73 fifties. In 90 test matches, he scored 4,876 runs, including six hundred, one double hundred, and 33 fifties. In T20 internationals, he played 98 matches and scored 1,617 runs with two fifties to his name.
Since retiring from international cricket, Dhoni has chosen to remain private and is rarely seen in public. Fans are hopeful to see him back in action for one more time in the upcoming IPL edition.
