Yashasvi Jaiswal played a sublime knock of an unbeaten 93 off just 53 deliveries laced with 13 boundaries and two maximums in the fourth T20I against Zimbabwe. On July 14, as India took on the hosts in the final T20I, he looked in great touch smashing two sixes in the first over before getting bowled by Sikandar Raza. India managed to win the game, and Jaiswal geared up to answer the fan queries from the stand.

BCCI’s new idea of fan interaction saw the southpaw walking up to the spectators and interacting with them. The first question popped up the much-debated exclusion of the India opener from the playing XI throughout the T20 World Cup 2024. The 22-year-old exuded sportsmanship while agreeing that he would have loved to showcase his skills, he added that any kind of contribution from his side to the team was the vision.

"I just enjoyed my processes and being a part of a World Cup champion team I learned a lot. I was excited for my chances. I wanted to try my best and make sure I was contributing for my team,” said Jaiswal in a video uploaded by the BCCI.

The only thing on our minds was finishing the game: Jaiswal

Jaiswal and Shubman Gill were all over the Zimbabwe bowlers as the duo amassed 61 runs in the powerplay chasing a meager target of 153 in the fourth T20I. They accelerated in between with caution and did not let the hosts crawl back into the game. In the end, the Men-In-Blue emerged victorious by 10 wickets and 4.4 overs to spare. Jaiswal quipped that it was their combined effort to not lose wicket and win comprehensively.

"I really enjoyed playing today. It was an amazing experience [batting] with Shubman Gill. I really enjoy playing and scoring runs, of course. Whenever I play for India, I really enjoy and feel proud. We were only thinking about how we could finish the game and win the match for the team. The only thing on our minds was finishing the game and without any loss of wickets,” he added.
