'If betraying had a face' - Dejected Aamer Jamal takes dig at PCB over Champions Trophy snub
Aamer was instrumental in Pakistan’s fightback in the lost series against Australia.
Pakistan announced Champions Trophy 2025 squad and the 15-member squad looks batting heavy with nine of them dominating the roster. Moreover, they have picked just one specialist spinner in the form of Abrar Ahmed. The notable exclusion of all-rounder Aamer Jamal created an immense stir and the 28-year-old has condemned the development with a cryptic post on Instagram.
Aamer was touted to be the sure-shot contender in the squad before it was released. The Mianwali-born cricketer has played 17 matches across formats and has picked 26 wickets and 445 runs. He was instrumental in Pakistan’s fightback in the lost series against Australia when they toured the country. After being dropped, the dejected cricketer took to Instagram and conveyed his feelings.

Babar Azam will open for Pakistan
According to Geo News, the right-arm pacer was promised a spot in the team by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), but the board deviated from their word and picked Faheem Ashraf instead. It is worth noting that, Ashraf has not played for Pakistan since December 2023, he was last seen representing the country in a Test match against Australia in Perth.

Speaking of Pakistan’s squad, Mohammad Rizwan has been named as the captain and Babar Azam will act as his deputy. There was an official statement from a member of the National Selection Committee, Asad Shafiq, that Babar might open the innings for the team in the event alongside Fakhar Zaman.
