Andre Russell is one of the fiercest batters in the game of cricket. His ability to hit the ball hard and long has earned him a huge reputation, especially in franchise cricket. The all-rounder is currently playing for Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR) in the inaugural season of the Major League Cricket (MLC). The team led by Sunil Narine has no more chance to reach the Playoffs as they lost four matches on the trot.
Russell, however, has been in spectacular form for the misfiring team as he has scored 169 runs in four matches at an average of 84.50 and a strike rate of 164.08. In LAKR's previous game against Washington Freedom, the 35-year-old played a gem of an innings as he scored an unbeaten 37-ball 70 in the first innings. His knock propelled LAKR to 175/7 in 20 overs. During his blistering knock, Russell hit six fours and as many sixes.
Unfortunately, one of his sixes hit a young fan in the stands on the head. Thankfully, the injury didn't seem too severe. After the match, Russell met the little boy in person. The T20 stalwart gave him a warm hug and checked on the injury as well. He also offered useful advice for the youngster:
"Next time when Dre Russell is batting, keep your eyes on the ball, okay?"
Andre Russell signed a couple of caps and a miniature cricket bat for the little one and posed for some pictures with him. The wholesome video was shared by LAKR on Instagram.
