During the first innings of the highly-anticipated Test series between India and Australia, a rather questionable moment was caught on camera, when team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja took the ball. Rohit Sharma and Co. have locked horns with the Aussies in the first of the four-match Test series at the Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) Stadium in Nagpur on Thursday, February 9.
Australian skipper, Pat Cummins, opted to bat first in the contest after winning the toss, a decision which seemed to have backfired. However, in the midst of the first innings, a peculiar incident was caught on camera when star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja took the ball to kickstart his over.

In the video, Jadeja is seen to be putting a rather peculiar substance on his spinning finger of his left hand before bowling. The questionable act has garnered much attention and has caused havoc on social media as fans and members of the cricketing fraternity have begun debating on it. Notably, the former England skipper, Michael Vaughan, and former Australian skipper, Tim Paine, reacted to the viral video and were left baffled by the unusual act made by the Indian all-rounder.
Ravindra Jadeja basks in five-wicket haul on his comeback
It is worth mentioning that, Jadeja, who returned to the national side after over a five-month long hiatus owing to an injury, claimed a sensational five-wicket haul on the very first day of the contest against visitors.
The star all-rounder returned impressive bowling figures of 5/47 in his 22 overs of the first innings. Speaking about the match, the Aussies skittled out for mere 177 runs on Day 1, as pacers, Mohammed Siraj, and Mohammed Shami provided the initial breakthroughs that set the tone of the contest.
The onus was then taken by all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja, and the veteran spinner, Ravichandran Ashwin, to the get the rest of the wicket to wrap up the innings. The opener duo of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul took the field as they put on a 76-run partnership before the latter was sent packing. The skipper remains unbeaten on his knock of 56 runs as India conclude Day 1 with 77 on the board and trail by 100 runs.
