IND vs AUS 2023: Fans go berserk as Virat Kohli leaves stadium in swanky car
The Delhi boy was practicing at the Arun Jaitley Stadium which is also the venue for the second Test between India and Australia.
Flamboyant India batter Virat Kohli was seen surrounded by his fans as he left the Arun Jaitley Stadium after a practice session ahead of the second Test. Team India and Australia are set to engage in the second of the four-match Test series scheduled to be played on Friday, February 17 in Delhi.
As India have taken a 1-0 lead following a domineering win in the Nagpur Test, both sides have begun preparations in full swing and have been sweating it out in the training sessions. Meanwhile, former India skipper, Kohli, who is also a local boy, was seen surrounded by fans, who turned up in huge numbers as soon as he left the stadium premises after the practice session.
In the video, Kohli can be seen exiting the stadium in his Porsche as fans went berserk to meet the talismanic batter. Few fans also got hold of his car and began cheering for the former India skipper.
India aim to extend their lead in second Test
As the berths for the ICC World Test Championship 2021-23 final is wide open, the two cricketing powerhouses are in contention for a place. However, after taking the lead in the first red-ball clash, India will aim to extend their lead further and strengthen their chances for a berth in the finals of the global ICC event.
Interestingly, the World No. 1 side in Test has failed to register a series win on Indian soil since the 2004-05 season. Given their poor away record and massive loss in the first Test, the Aussies will look to bounce back with a strong performance.
Adding to this, Mitchell Starc’s possible inclusion in the playing XI will only help up the ante and potentially get level in the series. While the main agenda still remains a place in the finals of the World Test Championship, a win in the forthcoming clash will get them a step closer to booking a spot.
