If there has been one positive to take from the first Test match in Nagpur for the Aussies, it has been the performance of Todd Murphy with the ball. The 22-year-old debutant has been impressive with the ball as he has provided his team with some much-needed breakthroughs.
After the inspiring knock of skipper Rohit Sharma, who scored 120 off 212 balls, 34-year-old Jadeja had quite the comeback to international cricket as he played a knock of 70 off 185 balls to further put pressure on the Australian side. Once again it was Murphy who took the wicket of Jadeja.
Murphy took out Jadeja as his sixth wicket of the match. An around the off, length delivery deceived Jadeja as it crashed into the off-stump after the 34-year-old misjudged the ball and tried to leave it.

So good to see him: Dinesh Karthik on Jadeja’s comeback
Before his sensational performance with the bat, Ravindra Jadeja also impressed with his bowling figures on the First Day of the Test match. The 34-year-old completed his five-wicket haul as he continued to take the game from the Aussies. In the first innings, Jadeja dismissed the likes of Marnus Labuschagne, Steve Smith, Matt Renshaw, Peter Handscomb, and Todd Murphy.
In a chat with Cricbuzz, Dinesh Karthik talked about Jadeja’s comeback, saying, "I think he has had a hard last five months; an injury at the Asia Cup early upset him. He was looking forward to the T20 World Cup, and he has lost time and lost a World Cup."
"I think he is bringing all of that energy and channelling it into what is required to play this sport, and it is so good to see him doing so well and being arguably one of the better all-rounders going around the world. Contributing with the ball when it matters, and when it comes to batting, he is one of the most improved batters," he added.
