The Border Gavaskar Trophy is just a few days away and the war of words between the former cricketers of India and Australia has already begun after Venkatesh Prasad gave a savage reply to Ian Healy's dig at Indian pitches. The former Indian pacer put the Aussie in his place, reminding him of the results of India's last two Test tours of Australia.

In the lead-up to the famous Test series, former Australia cricketer, Ian Healy, predicted the visitors to win the game if India prepared 'fair' wickets. However, he felt that the Aussies were at a disadvantage if India prepared 'unfair' tracks, which offer vicious spin from the first day, something he witnessed in the previous series.

"I think if they produce fair Indian wickets, that are good batting wickets, to start with, (that) probably spin and spin pretty consistently but spin a long way, late in the match, we (Australia) win. I'm worried about (Mitchell) Starc and (Nathan) Lyon in the first Test. If they're unfair wickets which I've seen in the last series, where balls were jumping ridiculously and sliding down low from day one, I think India play those conditions better than us," Healy stated in a conversation with SENQ Breakfast.

The legendary Indian pacer and cricket coach, Venkatesh Prasad, took to Twitter and enquired if the pitches prepared by the Aussies in the last two series were unfair, since India won the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia in 2019 and 2021, respectively.

Former Indian opener, Wasim Jaffer, who is ever present on the micro-boggling platform, was also quick to throw shade on Healy's comments on the Indian pitches. He reminded the former cricketer that it was Australia who prepared the pitches on India's last two visits to the country, yet ended up losing the series on both the occasions.
