Notably, Kohli slammed 186 runs off 386 balls on Day 4 to hand India a lead.
Flamboyant India batter Virat Kohli was heard engaging in a hilarious banter along with his teammates during the ongoing fourth Test in Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. India and Australia are set to conclude the final red-ball clash of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy on Monday, March 13.
In the midst of the third innings of the contest, Kohli was heard engaging in a rather hilarious chat with his teammates on Day 5. The incident occurred when Marnus Labuschagne walked into the crease following the dismissal of Matthew Kuhnemann.
“Dus minute dur hai, plane mein pehle hi baith jaunga. Hein? Plane main udaunga aaj, (It's just ten minutes away, I'll get on the plane first, what say? I'll fly the plane today)” Kohli can be heard saying.
Notably, veteran offie Ravichandran Ashwin drew first blood on the final day as he got the scalp of Kuhnemann. The spinner trapped Kuhnemann as he defended down the wrong line only for the ball to skid onto his pads.
India on the lookout to clinch final Test
The two cricketing powerhouses are set to draw curtains on the red-ball series as both sides will look for results in their favour. However, considering that the ICC World Test Championship 2021-23 final is at stake, Rohit Sharma and Co. will look to dismiss the tourists quick and produce a win on Day 5.
While, a scintillating 186-run knock by Kohli handed India a lead on Day 4. The home side will aim to capitalize on the lead and look to strike the vital breakthroughs in the third innings. It is worth mentioning that, the Aussies could be handed with a blow as opener Usman Khawaja faced discomfort in his knee while trying to catch Axar Patel off Todd Murphy on Day 4.
Following the discomfort, Kuhnemann opened along with Travis Head in the third innings of the clash. Meanwhile, Australia have already cemented their berth in the summit clash of the WTC and are likely to face India or Sri Lanka on June 7 at The Oval in London.
