Former India captain and ace batter Virat Kohli was at his best during the third and decider T20I against Australia in Hyderabad on Sunday, September 25, and his brilliant half-century knock helped India clinch the series by 2-1. But he showed the fun side of him after accepting the award for the energetic player of the series during the post-match presentation.
Kohli was not at his best in the first two games, as he could manage to get only 13 runs off the two T20Is. But during the third game, when India lost the openers early, Kohli formed a massive 104-run partnership with middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav and the duo anchored the innings majorly, which helped India win the game.
When Kohli was given the award after the match, he accepted the award and did a little action of running like an athlete on his way back, hilariously reacting to the ‘energetic player’ title of the award. In the viral Twitter video, even Yuzvendra Chahal and Glenn Maxwell are seen laughing after Kohli’s funny actions.

I want to keep contributing and doing my best for the team: Kohli
Kohli was India’s leading run scorer at the Asia Cup, which concluded before the Australia home series, and even notched up his maiden T20I ton at the continental event. A lot was expected from the top-order batter in this series, but there had been a sense of disappointment when he could not perform in the first two games. But the stalwart bounced back stronger to post a match-winning knock in the series decider.
“Last game I was a bit disappointed that after hitting him for a four, I went for a double rather than hitting him for a six. I'm making a conscious effort to strike those big ones through the middle overs so that it can help the team situation. The game shouldn't have gone on that long, we should have probably had 4 or 5 to chase in the final over. It was important to maintain my composure and get one boundary (on that first-ball six in the 20th over). I'm happy with my contribution to the team, I took a break, went back to the nets, worked hard on my fitness and think it's coming off well. I want to keep contributing and doing my best for the team,” Kohli said after the game.
