Skipper Rohit Sharma is usually a calm and composed person on the cricket field who does not involve himself in any on-field aggression or over-the-top celebrations. However, he has lost his composure on a few occasions when any of his teammates have committed silly mistakes while fielding.
The ‘Hitman’ vented out his frustrations for a disappointing bowling performance and the player at the receiving end was bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur. This happened during the third ODI between India and New Zealand at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore on Tuesday, January 24.
In the 27th over of the New Zealand innings, Shardul Thakur was walking back to mark his run up and that is when captain Rohit Sharma came and was seen scolding at him for allowing the Kiwi batters to score freely instead of trying to keep them quiet when the match was already in a tense situation. The Indian captain was supposedly upset with the loose balls bowled by Thakur as a result of which a well-set Devon Conway was dealing in boundaries with ease.

Shardul Thakur picked up three wickets in the game
After a while Rohit still looked angry while fielding when the cameras zoomed at him. Shardul Thakur had a very good outing in the third ODI as he finished with figures of 3/45 from his six-over spell at an economy of 7.5 which bagged him a well-deserved Player of the Match award.
The Palghar cricketer picked up the key wickets of Daryl Mitchell, skipper Tom Latham and Glenn Phillips. He had also contributed with the bat in the death overs playing a wonderful cameo of a 17-ball 25. Shardul's all-round contributions ensured that the Men in Blue succeeded in registering a 3-0 whitewash over the BlackCaps.
Notably, this is a second successive home ODI series whitewash registered by the Indian team this month. They had blanked Sri Lanka 3-0 earlier. The latest series victory has helped the Men in Blue gain the top spot in the ICC ODI Team Rankings.
