India and South Africa faced each other in the third and final T20I in Indore on Tuesday (October 4). Having already won the series, the hosts made a few changes resting their main players. South Africa were invited to bat first after losing the toss and banking on Rilee Rossouw's scintillating ton, they managed to post a mammoth total of 227 runs in their 20 overs.
Deepak Chahar's last over went for a massive 24 runs that also included an error from Mohammed Siraj which cost the team six runs. Off the penultimate ball of the over, David Miller pulled a short ball from Chahar into deep square leg only to find Siraj.
He did well to catch the ball but Siraj backpedaled after taking the catch only for his back foot to crash into the boundary line. Clearly, the bowler and the skipper Rohit Sharma weren't impressed with the efforts. Perhaps, Chahar was so frustrated that he was spotted abusing Siraj for the mistake.
Rossouw shines as SA post 227 runs
As far as South Africa's innings is concerned, the visitors batted superbly courtesy a stunning start from Quinton de Kock and a century from Rilee Rossouw. The latter remained unbeaten on 100 off just 48 deliveries while De Kock smashed 68 runs off 43 balls. David Miller also had fun in the last over scoring 19 off just five balls.
South Africa hit a total of 16 sixes and 15 fours in their innings taking full advantage of small boundaries and the flat pitch on offer in Indore. India are a batter short in this game having rested KL Rahul and Virat Kohli both and it remains to be seen how they approach the chase.
