IND vs SL: Virat Kohli unveils MS Dhoniesque helicopter shot to smack a 97-metre six
Kohli thumped Sri Lanka's bowlers right through his innings and remained unbeaten on 166 runs with 13 fours and 8 sixes.
Virat Kohli has got back his amazing consistency with the bat. He smashed his third ODI century in four innings on Sunday (January 15) at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthpuram against Sri Lanka. Moreover, he unleashed the other side of his batting as well after getting to a century and ended up being unbeaten on 166 off just 110 deliveries with 13 fours and 8 sixes to his name.
Meanwhile, soon after getting his 100, when Virat Kohli started enjoying his batting even more, he came down the track and slammed Kasun Rajitha for a huge six. It happened in the 44th over of the innings when the former India skipper picked up the slower ball, came down the track and thumped the ball over long-on boundary for a huge maximum.
Interestingly, there were shades of MS Dhoni's infamous "helicopter shot" in the way he followed through the shot and broke into a big smile. Also, the ball travelled a massive 97 metres to leave everyone in the stadium in awe.

India finish on 390/5 in their 50 overs
On the back of a stunning knock from Virat Kohli, India managed to post a huge total of 390 runs on the board for the loss of five wickets in their 50 overs. Shubman Gill also was the star of the innings hitting his second ODI century. Unfortunately, he got out on 116 when looked good to make a big score. But Kohli grabbed the opportunity and made sure to stay unbeaten till the end of the innings.
Even the other batters, Rohit Sharma (42) and Shreyas Iyer (38) made decent contributions in helping India post a big score. Sri Lanka will be under immense pressure of the asking rate now as they look to avoid the whitewash.
