South Africa won the third T20I match against India by 49 runs to finish the series with a 1-2 loss on Tuesday. They scored a big total of 227/3 after an unbeaten hundred from Rilee Rossouw and a 68-run knock from Quinton de Kock while batting first. Then, bowling all-rounder, Dwaine Pretorius took three wickets to bowl out India to just 178 runs in 18.3 overs to guide Proteas to a big win in Indore.

India won the toss and decided to bowl first at the Holkar Cricket Stadium with key batters Virat Kohli and KL Rahul rested. Umesh Yadav, who replaced rested Arshdeep Singh, dismissed South African captain Temba Bavuma on just three runs to give India a flying start. But Rossouw and De Kock thrashed Indian bowlers with a big 90-run partnership in just 48 balls for the second wicket.

De Kock scored 68 runs off 43 balls before getting run-out in the 13th over. But Rossouw went on to smash his first-ever T20I hundred in just 48 balls and remained unbeaten. David Miller, the last match's hero, smashed three big sixes in the last over to guide Proteas to a big 227/3 run total. For India, Deepak Chahar and Umesh took one wicket each but proved very costly.

Indian batters struggled in the absence of Virat Kohli and KL Rahul

The star pacer Kagiso Rabada bowled out Indian captain Rohit Sharma on a duck on the second delivery of the innings and Wayne Parnell dismissed Shreyas Iyer in the next over to ensure South Africa's early win. Then Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik managed to avoid further falls with a 41-run partnership for the third wicket to keep India on track to a big chase.

But both the wicketkeeper-batters failed to score big knocks and gave away their wickets cheaply while trying to go for big shots. Karthik smashed 46 runs off just 21 balls and Pant scored 27 runs off 14 balls. India lost in-form batter Suryakumar Yadav on just eight runs on Pretorius' delivery in the eighth over and Axar Patel walked back to the pavilion in the 12th over.

Indian lower-order batters Harshal Patel (17), Deepak Chahar (31), and Umesh (20*) tried to avoid an embarrassing defeat in the last few overs. Pretorius took his third wicket of the match in the form of Mohammed Siraj to end India's innings on 178/10 in 18.3 overs. Rossouw won the Player of the Match award for his unbeaten 100 runs off 48 balls knock and Suryakumar won the Player of the Series award for scoring 119 runs in three matches.
