Indian actress Sanya Malhotra picks Virat Kohli over Rohit Sharma, admits to have no knowledge of cricket

Indian actress Sanya Malhotra recently grabbed eyeballs with her response to a cricket-related question during a podcast appearance. While promoting her upcoming film Mrs, the Dangal star was asked to choose between Indian cricket batting stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Her response caught widespread attention, though she also admitted to having little knowledge about the sport.

Sanya, known for her roles in films like Badhaai Ho, Shakuntala Devi, Ludo, and Jawan, is currently gearing up for the release of 'Mrs', which is set to release on February 7. While promoting the film on The Unplugged Podcast with Shubhankar Mishra, the 32-year-old was asked to pick between the two cricketers. Without much hesitation, Malhotra picked Kohli but clarified that her choice was not based on cricketing skills.

"Virat Kohli, I don't know. To be honest, I don't watch cricket, I hardly watch it and have very limited knowledge about it," she said.

Virat-Rohit are back for national duty 

Indian batting greats Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are set for the three-match ODI series against England, starting on February 6, 2025, at the VCA Stadium in Nagpur. Both batters will be looking forward to putting their forgettable Test season behind them and finding form ahead of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, later this month.

Rohit had a dismal run in Tests, scoring just 164 runs in eight matches at an average of 10.93, while Kohli fared slightly better with 382 runs in 10 Tests at 22.87. Their struggles continued in domestic cricket, causing concerns about their form. However, both batters enjoy playing the 50-over format and are hopeful of playing the same brand of cricket which is loved by all.
