Indian Premier League (IPL) has entered its business end and the race for the playoffs is still on with two spots yet to be filled. Currently, only Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings have qualified for the playoffs and are most likely to finish in the top two spots.  With the tournament entering its last phases, there is still no clarity over the rest of the top four teams, which shows the competitiveness of this year’s IPL.

One of the teams who are among the favorites to finish in the top four is certainly Mumbai Indians, who have picked up at the right moment in the tournament. MI did not have an ideal start to their campaign as they lost their first two games. But eventually, the five-time IPL champions turned the tides and made a strong comeback. The only major concern for MI is their limited bowling options, with the likes of young Arjun Tendulkar, and Jofra Archer blowing hot and cold throughout the season.

Arjun has appeared in four games for the five-time champions this year. The 23-year-old all-rounder has taken three wickets in four games, at an average of 30.66 and an economy rate of 9.36. Arjun only had one opportunity to bat this season and made the most of it by scoring 13 runs against Gujarat Titans.

However, Arjun had to endure an injury that saw him occupying the sidelines for a significant chunk of MI's matches. It was also later revealed that he got bitten by a dog on his bowling hand, thus delaying his comeback.

In a video posted by MI’s official Twitter handle, Arjun Tendulkar could be seen exercising his arm-wrestling skills while the team was in the gym. Before the SRH match, Tendulkar was not the only person observed lifting weights. Suryakumar Yadav and Vishnu Vinod were also in the mix, sweating it out before the all-important clash. The video shows how determined the players are and how hard they have been training ahead of the must-win game.

The video posted by MI was captioned “No. Rest. Days. 💪🏋️‍♂️ ➡️ “.

MI need to defeat SRH to keep playoff hopes alive

The Rohit Sharma-led side now finds themselves in a position where they have to win their last league match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, scheduled to be played on Sunday, May 21, with a comprehensive margin so that they can better their net run rate, before depending on the results of Royal Challengers Bangalore’s last game.

With four victories and two losses, MI have undoubtedly made the most of their home advantage, something that the five-time IPL champions would want to continue as they have one last chance to raise their net run rate. MI are currently placed in sixth place with seven wins in the 13 games they have played in the season so far.
