Hardik Pandya's Gujarat Titans pulled off a sensational comeback win against Lucknow Super Giants in their latest Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL) game in Lucknow on April 22. Hardik shone with the bat, top-scoring with 66 off 50. He was also impressive with his leadership skills while successfully defending 135 as the Titans won the game by seven runs in the final over. After the game, Hardik won the fans' attention as he exchanged his jersey with brother Krunal.
Krunal also left a big mark with the ball with figures of 2/16 and 23 runs with the bat at the no.3 position. The spin all-rounder ended on the losing side as Lucknow Super Giants struggled in the death overs despite dominating the majority of the game. Hardik shared a video of him exchanging jerseys with his elder brother on his Twitter handle and wrote, "Only love my brother."
Despite a win Gujarat Titans, remain in the fourth position in the points table with eight points from six games while Lucknow Super Giants remain in the second position.
Meanwhile, Hardik won the toss and elected to bat first with Noor Ahmad coming in for Alzarri Joseph. Wriddhiman Saha scored 47 off 37 and Hardik produced his first fifty of this season. But Lucknow bowlers were impressive with economical spells to restrict Gujarat to just 135. Krunal dismissed both openers and conceded just 16 runs off his four-over spell while Marcus Stoinis picked two for 20 from his three overs.
KL Rahul and Kyle Mayers gave Lucknow Super Giants a quick start by adding a 55-run stand for the opening wicket. Rahul recorded another fifty while Krunal added 23 off 23 to put Lucknow in comfortable position to win the game.
But both Krunal and Rahul were defensive with their approach as Gujarat Titans balanced the game with Noor Ahmad taking two wickets. Rahul remained on the pitch till last over but failed to finish the game as Mohit Sharma picked two wickets in the 20th over to clinch a thrilling seven-runwin for Gujarat Titans.
