IPL 2023 Final: MS Dhoni lifts Ravindra Jadeja in emotional scenes post CSK's historic victory

Chennai Super Kings clinched their record fifth title, bouncing back from a horrendous campaign last year, after defeating reigning champions Gujarat Titans in their own backyard. Champion all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, who showed nerves of steel in an enthralling final over, was hugged and lifted off the ground by an emotional MS Dhoni after his heroics. 

The IPL 2023 final twisted and turned with every over, overwhelming even 'Captain Cool' MS Dhoni, who wore a pensive look on his face during a tense final over. The Indian icon, who rarely shows his emotion on the field, gave an intense hug to his teammate Ravindra Jadeja after his sensational last-ball boundary that sealed a dramatic win for the visitors.

Jadeja, who was circled by his jubilant teammates after his batting heroics, was lifted up the ground by skipper MS Dhoni during his victory lap in front of a full house crowd at the Narendra Modi Stadium. It was an emotional moment for the former Indian skipper as he is admittedly in the last phase of his illustrious career. 

Following the emotional scenes on the pitch, the veteran Indian cricketer revealed that he is planning to come back for one more season next year as a parting gift to the fans who have shown tremendous love and support for the wicketkeeper-batter. He now joins arch-rivals Mumbai Indians' skipper Rohit Sharma as the most successful skipper in the tournament's history, winning five IPL trophies each.
