Mumbai Indians (MI) are scheduled to take on Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their upcoming 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) match on Tuesday, May 16, at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, in Lucknow. Having 14 and 13 points, respectively, MI and LSG currently occupy third and fourth places in the IPL 2023 points table. Both MI and LSG are coming off impressive victories from their previous encounters.

On May 12, the Rohit Sharma-led team upset the defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) by 27 runs, while on the next day, LSG defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by seven wickets. Meanwhile, post their memorable victory, the Mumbai franchise recently punished their young batter, Nehal Wadhera, in a hilarious manner. Notably, the 22-year-old, reported late for the MI batters' meeting which resulted in the punishment.

Thereafter, MI took to Twitter to share a video of the batter, who was seen wearing cricket pads instead of a typical jumpsuit at the Mumbai Airport.

"#MumbaiIndians youngster #NehalWadhera turned all heads at Mumbai airport with his punishment #OOTD. He was captured with his pads on instead of traditional jumpsuit. According to our sources, #Nehal regrets being late for batters meeting," the franchise captioned the video.

The youngsters were subjected to disciplinary action and were told to wear an alternate shirt on their way to the next match's location. Notably, the players were seen wearing a shirt and bottom with all of Mumbai's players' faces emblazoned on it.

"I came late for two meetings. I was sleeping during one, and during the second one, I was sleeping, so I got late by 10 minutes," said Arshad Khan.

Meanwhile, the talented all-rounder, Shokeen, confirmed that he was handed the punishment for showing up late for the practice session held by the Mumbai Indians.
