After Lucknow Super Ginats’ thrilling win over Royal Challengers Bangalore in the ongoing IPL 2023, former India international Gautam Gambhir, who was pumped up with the win, asked the home fans at Chinnaswamy Stadium to keep quiet, who were once again very loud on the match day. Notably, Gambhir was very animated throughout Lucknow’s chase. He was seen banging the table and celebrating in an aggressive manner among many other things.

Meanwhile, the incident happened after the match when Gambhir hugged many of his teammates and silenced the Bengaluru crowd by putting his finger on his lips. The image of which has gone viral on social media and he has received some mixed reactions so far. Notably, the same crowd had mocked Rohit Sharma a few days back when Mumbai Indians travelled to the venue for a match against the home side.

Sir Gautam Gambhir showing this to the Chinnaswamy crowd. This is the same crowd that made fun of Indian captain Rohit Sharma. Just Karma.

Stoinis, Pooran help LSG beat RCB by one wicket

The match between Bangalore and Lucknow was nothing short of an epic thriller. Batting first, Virat Kohli (61 runs off 44 deliveries) and Faf du Plessis (79* runs off 46 deliveries) gave a perfect start to the home side while Glenn Maxwell (59 runs off 29 runs) towards the fag end of the match played a blistering knock to help Bangalore post 212 runs on board after 20 overs.

In the second innings, Lucknow lost three quick wickets of Kyle Mayers, Deepak Hooda, and Krunal Pandya while KL Rahul too returned back to the pavilion after scoring 18 runs off 20 deliveries. However, Australia all-rounder Marcus Stoinis rose up to the occasion and played a blistering knock of 65 runs off 30 deliveries to change the complexion of the match.

After his dismissal, Nicholas Pooran took the responsibility and the West Indies international smacked six all around the park, scoring 62 runs off just 19 deliveries. He also registered the fastest half-century of IPL 2023. However, he too couldn’t finish the job as the responsibility now fell on Ayush Badoni’s shoulder.

The youngster showed a lot of maturity, scoring 30 off 24 deliveries but unfortunately lost his wicket after his bat hit the stumps while hitting a six. Nevertheless, the Lucknow batters managed to rotate the strike towards the fag end of the match and eventually won the game on the final delivery.
